Phone Poll Versus Internet Poll

According to the latest survey conducted by the Guardian/ICM via a phone poll says that the Conservatives are ahead by 6 points. While, the YouGov poll for the Sun via an internet survey says the Labour leads by 3 points.

Internet polls conducted last week says that the Labour’s lead ranges from 3 to 6 points. However, phone polls that were published several hours’ later say that the Tories are ahead by 1 point.

The differences of the poll results can be attributed and explained by the standard margin of error by random sampling of positive or negative 3 points that all polls have to face. But, the trends in the polls from internet and phone surveys tell us significant differences.

Which Method is Better?

The problem is that we won’t be sure enough until May 8th this year.

The phone polls conducted in 2010 were generally closer to the final results; however, it was mainly driven by the surveys conducted by the internet that overestimated the support for the Lib Dems.

Majority of the internet polls were generally correct in terms of figures for the 2 largest parties during the election. YouGov’s final results in 2010 had the Tories on 35%, while the Labour on 28% — which are just 1 point off from their final figures.

History tells us that phone polls are generally more accurate; however there is no evidence that suggest that this will always be the situation. The fact that only fewer people nowadays use the telephone will prove this historical basis to be a challenge to phone polls. Internet polling, on the other hand, is cheaper; thus, more data can be collected from various domains, and panels have become increasingly representative of a certain population as it grows in size.

The Difference between the 2 Approaches

Phone polls utilize random sampling; while those who take internet polls usually do it voluntarily as they have to sign up to a panel, but they cannot choose which poll to respond to.

There are also differences in methods used by phone and internet polls. This includes past voting behaviors, undecided voters, and levels of uncertainty.

Note that all types of polls have a margin of error and a level of confidence. For instance, for a poll of 100 people, there will be a marginal error of +/- 3 points and a confidence level of 95%. Theory suggests that 95% of the results of the poll are within the 3 percentage of points of what the results would be for the whole British population that participated in the survey.

The truth is there is always that element of uncertainty. That is, there is no way of knowing whether a certain poll is right or wrong until the election takes place. Because of that, it is highly recommended that you evaluate the trends of the polls first.

The latest average of the polls conducted by the Guardian has 2 main parties that are tied up; the conservatives who are on 33.7% which is just 0.1 points ahead of the party of Ed MIlibands.

Sarah Confesses She Gave a Dazzling Amount to Online Lover She Has Never Ever Met

Sarah, who will be featured on Dr. Phil’s upcoming episode, tells that she has met a man named Chris Olsen for the past 18 months on an online dating facility.

Chris who is a businessman based in Africa soon proclaimed his love over the 2 times divorced Sarah that he refers as his “flower” and soon to be “Mrs Olsen.”

However the path to happy ever after was such a rocky road as Chris was detained for several times and prevented to come back home following an incident with the African government in the country of Benin.

Sarah on the other hand is very determined to help her new found love. So she sold her apartment and earned $500,000 and sent the money to Chris in order to have his bail paid.

In spite of the story reading of a handbook How to Avoid a Dating Scam which seems like a warning call, Sarah is still “95% sure” Chris is not lying.

“He has given me assurance that once he gets home, he will repay every dime.” She said that she has given Chris around $1.4 million to settle his bail and bills and asked the help of Dr. Phil with the hope that he can make them unite on his show.

Sarah deems that Chris, an Italian who is already a widow and originates from Milan who transferred to America nearly 20 years ago. As they met online, he said to her he was currently working in South Africa. After several months, he moved to Benin together with his 2 daughters.

According to Sarah, Chris desperately wants to go back home to America but has an issue with the Benin government which include being falsely accused due to money laundering.

On top of the $500,000 amount of bail cash, Sarah has also paid the visa bills, hotel bills, attorneys, money for stolen credit cards and she was even the one who paid for the nanny’s salary.

Recalling about their first encounter over the web datingsite, Sarah said that she was overly flattered by the mere attention. “What I thought is that, wow, this guy is undeniably handsome, it is beyond my imagination that he is actually entertaining me.” “Chris is good with flattery and poetic words. He’ll ask me ‘how are you my queen’.”

Almost every day, the couple talk over the phone even though Sarah admits that during the moment she has recognized Chris, his voice has been quietly different. He seemed to have an Italian accent at first, but she believes that his voice was changed since he has been in Benin for quite some time.

“I still have faith in love.”

Jody Kriss Uses Courts of New York to Make Money?

Jody Kriss, the principal owner of East River Partners and former CFO of the Bayrock Group, has been involved in a large number of multimillion dollar lawsuits since leaving Bayrock in 2009. An analysis of the lawsuits Kriss is involved in shows a clear intent to increase capital for his own company by means of extortion and blackmail in order to receive settlement money. This money would most likely be used to create his own real estate stockpile.

According to a website that is dedicated to reveal the dirty tactics of Jody Kriss, he is involved in at least 5 lawsuits that he either filed as a plaintiff or fought as a defendant since 2010. The lawsuits include a billion-dollar case filed against hundreds of people that were involved in the building of Trump SoHo, an establishment that costs $450 million. They also include the $20-million lawsuit that was filed against a blogger from New York City wherein Kriss used dead Holocaust survivors as plaintiffs, Moreover, there is also the lawsuit filed against the East River Partners with regards to the harmful exposure of infants and families to lead paint and asbestos. All these were pointed towards Kriss attempting to extort quick cash without any regard for other people’s livelihood.

Jody Kriss filed a case against his former company, Bayrock Group, claiming that the company was just a racketeering front, suing them for $100 million worth of punitive damages. This is somehow one of the interesting cases under his wings as he has been the company’s CFO; thus, he should’ve had an idea about several financial decisions of the company as they had to go through him first. This case which was filed in May of 2010 is still sitting dormant primarily because of the way the evidences were claimed by Kirss and his legal team (Richard Lerner and Frederick Oberlander). The said evidence was obtained illegally as they stole it from the hard drive of the company; it contained confidential and sensitive information about attorney-client communications. Currently, it has been sealed since it places great risks to the safety of the defendants. As a result, the lawyers of Jody Kriss are now under investigation for criminal contempt of the court.

After many years of trial, Jody Kriss then filed a suit against Salvatore Lauria, one of the managing partners of Bayrock Group, on behalf of a deceased family of Holocaust survivors (the Estate of Ernest Gottdiener). This case, however, is still looking for new information to arrive in order to push through.

Three years after Kriss first filed a case against Bayrock Group, he then filed another suit. According to some sources, the demand was up from $100 million to $1 billion. In fact, the list of defendants continues to grow which included several government employees, high-end real estate developers, insurance companies, and hundreds of others. This too was put on hold, because of Kriss stole the hard drive of the company which contains dangerous information which could put the lives of the defendants at risk.

On top of these cases, an article which was released through New York City blog Queens Politics reveled that Kriss is a serial plaintiff out to make money using the Courts of New York as pawn. The blog even claimed that he is associated with the Russian Mafia as evidenced by a highly trafficked NY Post article about Kriss. Kriss immediately demanded $20 million settlement with the blog owner, Adam Lombardi. This case is still ongoing, and has hit many snags.

Jody Kriss – Russian Mafia Connect?

There are at least 5 major lawsuits that involve Jody Kriss, demanding huge amounts of money which were based on threats of using stolen evidence and blackmail. No end is in sight.

Unsealing the Sentence Proceedings of the Stock Fraud Case

Before US President Obama nominated Loretta Lynch, a federal prosecutor, to be attorney general, the former federal judge was called to congress for investigation on her tenure in the US attorney’s office for stepping on victim’s rights.

A law professor at the University of Utah, Paul Cassell, said that Ms. Lynch’s office (the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York) haven’t the victims of a major cause that the culprits were sentenced; which denied them to seek out restitution of about $40 million losses.

In his written statement to House Judiciary Committee panel in 2013, stated that if the prosecutors kept the sentencing procedures a secret to reward criminals for their cooperation in the investigation, it would violate the Crime Victim Restitution Act.

Cassell wrote, “Every day that the office withholds notice from the victims in this case about the continuing proceedings that are occurring in this case is a day in which the office is violating the CVRA.”

Felix Sater
House of Judiciary Committee

The Judiciary Committee sent an email to The Washington Times that it didn’t followed up contact yet with Ms. Lynch’s office, but added that the panel hasn’t ruled out sending an inquiry to her office regarding the handling of the rights of the victims.

The NRO, however, have a written response from Lynch and said that the case of Sater’s cooperation with her office is vital to national security and declined discussing the issue of restitution.

Lynch, replied in writing, “The defendant in question, Felix Sater, provided valuable and sensitive information to the government during the course of his cooperation, which began in or about December 1998. For more than 10 years, he worked with prosecutors from my office, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and law enforcement agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies, providing information crucial to national security and the conviction of over 20 individuals, including those responsible for committing massive financial fraud and members of La Cosa Nostra. For that reason, his case was initially sealed…”

Because of Ms. Lynch’s nominations for being an attorney general was passed before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is controlled mainly by Republicans, the case would come up for an inquiry.

Mr. Cassell said during one of his interviews, “I do think it’s something that the senate should be investigating as part of the confirmation process.”

A lawyer filed a petition before the Supreme Court to force more records of the stock fraud case to be unsealed for the reason that Ms. Lynch’s office kept secret deals with criminal cooperators.

Atty. Frederick Oberlander, who sued Sater in behalf of the victims, said, “These deals, indisputably in defiance of mandatory federal forfeiture and restitution laws, allow cooperators to keep the proceeds of their crimes in exchange for their cooperation and keep their reputation intact, hidden behind secret dockets.”

The petition filed isn’t the first time that Oberlander and Atty. Richard Lerner sought to pry on the sealed records of Sater’s case.

Book: Pathways to Peace

Pathways to Peace: The Transformative Power of Children and Families

Edited by James F. Leckman, the Neison Harris Professor of Child Psychiatry, Psychology and Pediatrics; Catherine Panter-Brick, professor of anthropology, health, and global affairs; and Rima Salah, assistant clinical professor at the Child Study Center

(The MIT Press)

“Pathways to Peace” poses the question: can more peaceful childhoods promote a culture of peace? Increasing evidence from a broad range of disciplines shows that how people raise their children affects the propensity for conflict and the potential for peace within a given community. In this book, experts from a range of disciplines examine the biological and social underpinnings of child development and the importance of strengthening families to build harmonious and equitable relations across generations. They explore the relevance to the pursuit of peace in the world, highlight directions for future research, and propose novel approaches to translate knowledge into concrete action.

The contributors describe findings from research in biology, neuroscience, evolution, genetics, psychology, social sciences, and policy. They report empirical evidence on children living in violent conditions, resilience in youth, and successful interventions. Their contributions show that the creation of sustainable partnerships with government agencies, community leaders, policy makers, funders, and service providers is a key ingredient for success. Taken together, they suggest possible novel approaches to translate knowledge into concrete action.

World Muslim Congress

For the last few years this eminent group has been busy organizing a cease-fire amongst the various groups in Afghanistan. Although the Taliban has emerged to occupy over 85% of the territory, the efforts of World Muslim Congress continue. There is a great need to coordinate the varied attempts being made to bring back Peace and security in Afghanistan. Reconstruction is also urgently needed.

For the last two years there have been meetings in Amman, Jordan to harmonize the Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities in that area. World Muslim Congress has been a participant in that conference, and presided over the first working session.

World Muslim Congress has aided in the recent conflicts in Mindanao and Jakarta. They have also been a presence for Peacebuilding in the Kashmir conflict between India and Pakistan.

United Religions Initiative

a) The purpose of the United Religions Initiative is to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence, and to create cultures of Peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings. We are a global, grassroots organization, with locally active groups on all continents who are globally connected by the principles of URI. We are widely open to participation and collaboration. Any group of at least seven individuals including at least three diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions may be a member of URI.

b) Our Peacebuilding activities come under several of the paths, including Education, Environment and Culture, however, all are done as interfaith community actions. Despite the difficulties in the Middle East, the Israel Interfaith Association has continued a program in which Muslims, Jews and Christians come together to share their beliefs and thereby deepen understanding and trust. In Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi and other countries in Africa, URI Cooperation Circles have ongoing work that includes interfaith dialogue, education, AIDS prevention, economic development and conflict transformation. We have planned a program of multi-cultural and inter-religious conflict transformation workshops that would provide training of trainers in Uganda, Ethiopia and the Philippines. Our Manipur, India, group led a successful effort to have curfews lifted and violence reduced in their state. The leading work for our Circles in Korea is a program of religious education, presenting different religions to a diverse audience. And in Latin America, work ranges from Viva Rio’s program to turn in handguns (100,000 at a recent event) to creating inter-religious curricula for public schools programs in Argentina as a result of their new national law on religious freedom.

We continue to bring forth in all our endeavors a positive approach to Peacebuilding, notably through the use of the Appreciative Inquiry, an innovative methodology for organizational development, as well as through our commitment to include those voices not often heard.

At its 36th session, in 1981, the United Nations General Assembly, in conformity with its Charter, decided "to devote a specific time to concentrate the efforts of the United Nations and its Member States, as well as of the whole of mankind, to promoting the ideals of Peace and to giving positive evidence of their commitment to peace in all viable ways.

"The Assembly therefore unanimously declared, in a resolution (UN/A/RES 36/37) adopted on 30 November 1981, that the opening of its regular annual session in September, should be officially dedicated and observed as the International Day of Peace and should be devoted "to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples."

1983 was the genesis of the "WE THE PEOPLES" INITIATIVE. Responding to a request by Robert Muller, then Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Pathways To Peace (PTP) coordinated the International Peace Day Project, with citizens representing diverse organizations. By 1984, citizens in over 52 countries responded to PTP’s invitation to participate in the Project.

Expansion has continued throughout the world. In 1989, this Project/Initiative was granted Peace Messenger Initiative status by Secretary-General Perez de Cuellar, and officially renamed "WE THE PEOPLES" Initiative. ("We the peoples…" is the opening phrase with which the Charter of the United Nations begins.) The Initiative was formally introduced to all Peace Messenger Organizations and Cities on the International Day of Peace, Tuesday 18 September 1990, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, by the UN Peace Studies Unit.

This UN Peace Messenger Initiative, the "WE THE PEOPLES" INITIATIVE. is designed to provide a context to unite our strengths to build Cultures Of Peace for the children of this and future generations.
